An 84 is Better Than a 74...
I just got my last Honors paper back...with an increase in grade but not really anything else. My professor still had the same problems with this essay as the last one and was only "deeply impressed by [my] close readings of these poems and the meanings [I] extracted from their rhyme schemes"...I should be happy, but I didn't argue enough nor did I prove anything, according to Dr. Susser. At least my background in poetic analysis was helpful, to a degree.
Now this paper has me worried about my essay for Canadian Literature. Dr. Voaden thought my short paper was interesting and that I made a good case, but what about now? What about including more works? What if I'm relying too much on Margaret Atwood's book on Canadian Literature and have no original ideas of my own?
And THEN I have to write a paper about Equus when everyone and their DOG has written about its themes of sexual deviancy.
I'm having a crisis. I don't even know if my tiny paper about Climate Change Conferences will be any good, and that professor just cares if you can use commas...I have a feeling that I will end this semester a little battle-scarred.
