It's Been Such a Long Time! I Think I Should be Going! Yeah!
Sorry, I'm a sucker for song lyrics as titles.
It really has been quite a while since my last post, and boy do I have some reporting to do! I've been working my arse off lately (35 hours a week, normally) and pulling a couple of all-nighters on Sundays after work...keeping up my grades, however. I even got an A on my last English paper. :)
But I had all of my cardio tests this week, which included a stress test yesterday (running on a treadmill for eleven minutes) and the dreaded tilt table test this morning. (I also have an echo test on Friday, but I'm not worried about that.)
My note on facebook was pretty extensive in regards to the details of the tilt table (they strapped me down, put an IV in, and tilted the table right side up, which caused me to pass out completely. Good times...) but I can be a little more dramatic here where I'm not concerned about my boss seeing it! Ha ha ha.
Basically, I lost consciousness for eleven seconds, during which my heart stopped beating. I had no heart rate and no blood pressure. Every time that I have passed out completely (in the movie theater a month ago and during that NHS meeting in 11th grade), my heart has stopped. My flight-or-fight instinct goes a little more along the lines of: "Shit! Something bad happened! Tell that heart to stop pumping!" Most people get a shot of adrenaline from the unnamed 'something bad'.
So I'm wearing a lovely event monitor that beeps and records all of the times that I pass out. Which is every day, multiple times a day. I'll be wearing it for about thirty days, unless my cardiologist decides that he's seen me faint enough. And if that happens, I might get a pacemaker. Here's hoping that that keeps me from passing out all of the time.
In the meantime, I'm still planning on NaNoWriMo, even though I have to start research for my very big paper for ENG 102, plus I have a paper for my honors class due sometime soon, and I have to finish "The Twelve Caesars" for Latin. It's a good thing that I'm such a history nerd that I don't mind taking on an extra project...
How I'll get all of this done, I'm not really sure yet. I do know that I have a lot of days off during November. That and my SBUX has another shift coming to work weekend nights. Hooray! That doesn't have to be the Devan Show like it has been the past few months! A little less for my plate is nice.
If I decide to, I'll post the link to my blogged novel for the duration of November. Here's hoping that I cna write quickly and well. They will be giving out free print copies again this year through CreateSpace. (How cool would it be to have a hard copy of something big that you wrote? I don't care how bad it turns out; I think I'll order one this time around.)

Just think of it this way...You freed up time for both of those nurses since you performed so quickly!! Way to go. If you're gonna pass out, pass out!!! Mommy's proud of you! ;)
