The Last Weekend of Summer
I woke up super early this morning to go shopping for my textbooks and go to my English department meet-and-greets. I purchased the three books for my English 102 class and my honors course, The Human Event (which actually required a three-volume literature anthology. It's a beautiful set of books) then waited out on the Old Main mall for the morning festivities to begin.
I saw a couple of friends from high school who I chatted with and then I made a few friends from the English department, who I spent the rest of the day with. I purchased a $10 ASU shirt, got another one for free (it says: "This is my Sun Devil t-shirt" on it. Kinda cute) and then went home. Because six hours in the Arizona heat was more than enough.
I plan to hike up A Mountain at some point, just to have done it, but I don't really want to go alone. Who would take pictures of me?
I'll post again on Monday after my first classes (math and Latin. Should be entertaining!) and then again on Tuesday after my doctor's appointment and Feminism class.
While I still feel so young, I think I'm ready for this college thing. I have a nice backpack, college swag, a basic overview of campus. What more do I need?
