I've officially been with Starbucks for two and a half years. And I now have thirty cents more per hour to show for it. Woo.

On a lighter note, I only have one exam this week rather than two and I arranged it so that I can have an outing with Mom and Auntie Kim this Thursday to go see a film produced by my charity-of-choice, Care. I'm really quite excited.

Some other news: I'm entering a few scholarship contests which require writing...one of them is an actual writing contest and the entries are due March 15th. I don't know that I can write anything substantial in that short of time, but I figure I'll edit something as best I can, enter it, and hope for the best. (There's always that little voice in the back of my mind saying: no one else will enter and you'll get $1,200 for a pile of shit!) There's another English Dept. scholarship that I'll be applying for as well...Dr. Voaden is on the award committee and she already said that she would write a letter of recommendation for me. It would be so nice to have extra funds...

Oh well. Reading Lolita and being reminded of how much I love it always puts me in a happy mood. Happier, anyway.
