Papers, Books, and Not Enough Time

I think, thanks to my mom and my own introspection, that I have discovered why I have not really been getting enough out of my college experience. I rarely talk in class. And this is not necessarily beneficial to my grades, as almost every single one of my classes are discussion and participation-based.

Generally speaking, I never feel as though I have given my homework enough time or consideration for me to talk and/or argue over said homework. Yes, I've read Hobbes and Locke and Moliere...can I argue for or against them? I can try. They sparked some questions in me. I could definitely refute Pascal's arguments...

In my literature classes and my honors class, all we do is discuss readings. And if I don't give those readings more than cursory glances, how can I talk about the ideas presented?

I actually read through Tartuffe and loved it. I have a lot to say about it, too, which is why I will be writing my first honors paper on it. Now I have to read The Settlers of the Marsh and Wuthering Heights and I'm worried that I won't be able to really internalize the books as much as I would like.

And this is why I will probably have B's this semester. Next year, though, I want to spend more time reading and less time working. (Although all I do in my free time is read. Seriously. My facebook hours have been cut drastically. I have hours in between classes where I am reading short stories or novels. I'm glad I'm not the only one doing that in the MU.)
